At around 3:30 this morning (June 6), a car careened into our yard and demolished our mailbox. DH heard a loud crunching sound and went to investigate, but didn’t see this.

One piece was found across the street about 50 yards down, another was in the yard, and yet another piece was about 20 feet away on our lawn.

The post is a 6 foot post dug down about 3-4 feet and cemented in place. I hope it did extensive damage to the car of the driver who decided our mailbox was a minor obstacle to drive over.
