I had quite a scare with this one.

I haven’t used my new sewing machine since I took the “owner’s class” last month. At the end of that class, the instructor had us remove the bobbin case completely to learn how to clean it properly. I thought I did a decent job replacing it… turns out I replaced it improperly. my machine had a seizure and I nearly followed suit when I attempted to sew up this thing today. So one broken needle and a nicked bobbin case later…

Here’s my entry for day 4, continuing on the “Red” theme. I scorched the center fabric which was leftover from the embellished husband project in December – I forgot it was a poly blend… hopefully it’s not too visible.

I really enjoy the freehand embroidery – especially to make words. The scribbly effect always makes me happy.

Stinking scanner doesn’t do the colors justice. I had a florescent red and it came out pale red.

I got all the reds out of my paint box and painted some 2×2 swatches.
